| The Chetek Area Calhoun Museum, operated by the Chetek Area Historical Society, is a membership-supported non-profit organization that promotes and interprets the history of the greater Chetek area of northern Wisconsin. In addition to the collection of artifacts from times gone by, which are on display in downtown Chetek, the Museum also hosts a variety of events during the year that serve to entertain and teach people about life in another time. The Museum has four focal points, the lumber industry, the tourist industry, the Native American influence and the service of Chetek area residents in the US Military. Chetek has had a number of manufacturing industries in its history. Displays of Chetek's manufacturing past tie in with the four focal points. Other web sites give more information on present day Chetek. The Museum is located at 120 Knapp Street in Chetek, and is open 1PM - 4:30 PM six days per week from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and may be available by appointment. |
